A Tribute to Dean

This fall, Maplewood lost a gentle soul. After a year long battle with cancer, Dean passed away on September 23, 2016. He was 60.

Dean was born on a farm on Allumette Island, Quebec on November 14th, 1955. He enjoyed working outdoors, woodworking and gourmet cooking.

Dean retired from teaching in 2011 and took on the boarding kennel on a full time basis. It was his retirement project. He thoroughly enjoyed taking care of the dogs and the facility and loved meeting and chatting with new people.

Michele and the kids will now carry on his work and legacy. He leaves behind a big hole in our hearts.
